The brown turtle is really just an idea.
It is an idea that an educated, young black man in America can maneuver through his experiences without fear, without conviction and without a care in the world while being able to stop and look up at the stars. A dubious idea of freedom.
As an early philosopher once said:
“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.” Confucius
My patience has grown thin during five and a half years of college, but patience is the most important trait to embody when blessings don’t seem to be falling in your lap.
“Take your time,” I will tell myself, “life isn’t going anywhere.” But then again, life can and will go on without you.
With the uncertainty of life in general, I try my best to focus on the things that bring me joy. Creating inspiring content, writing quality articles, and sharing dope art are among those. My blog is simply for anybody who finds joy in similar things.
My goal is to be a music and culture freelance writer. I also have dreams of becoming a clinical therapist and running my own food truck one day.
Here is one of my first posts in 2015 explaining why I chose the name of the blog.
